Maybe you've heard of Brother Andrew? The Christian missionary famous for his exploits smuggling Bibles to communist countries in the height of the Cold War, a feat that has earned him the nickname "God's Smuggler".
Did you know that on May 1, 1991, Jan Kinne-Conway joined Brother Andrew on an exciting adventure to smuggle Bibles into a closed country? Jan recalls having to wear a special slip, under her dress, that had as many 3-inch Bibles sewn into it as possible. She had very specific instructions to follow on this mission, and upon arrival at the airport, she was to go directly to the restroom, which was nothing like what most of us are accustomed to in our travels, rather it was dark, disgusting, and only had concrete holes filled and surrounded by human waste. Once she was safely in a "restroom", she had to undress and unload all of the Bibles into a carry-on type bag, and then was to remain hiding there where she would eventually be contacted by someone who would be meeting her to take the Bibles to their next position.
Jan has so many exciting memories from her travels around the world as a missionary. You can read about these adventures in her book, "The Finisher".
Jan speaks to groups about the fact that it's never too late to make changes in your life and be "The Finisher" that God wants you to be.
Jan Conway has been impacting lives for many years as a Registered Nurse, Instructor, Speaker, Missionary, community leader and sought, after conference speaker. Jan has a keen ear to hear when God speaks to her, and she will share her thoughts and prayers directly with anyone she is working with.
After writing her first book, The Finisher, Jan started hearing how her story has inspired others to make a difference in their lives.
Jan loves to share how we can all be great finishers in life by helping you find the answers to these personal questions that we all have about our own lives:
- Is this all there is?
- Is this what I want for the rest of my life?
- Does my life matter?
One of Jans favorite activities is to lead women’s retreats. Jan uses humor, her own vulnerability, plus Scripture to target women’s issues. She helps women feel comfortable to face troubling areas seldom discussed with other women such as:
