After 30 years of helping couples with the struggles that come at midlife, the creator of Midife Dimensions, has decided to start LateLife Hope to focus on the needs of the next oldest generational group — "LateLife".
Notice that we are using a NEW WORD to identify this age group. We're not calling them "Seniors, or Senior Citizens, or Old People, The Elderly, or even Golden Oldies". The term "LateLife" communicates dignity, productivity — not disposability.
As Jim and Jan have read email coming to the Midlife Dimensions office over the past few years, and have talked with many people while speaking at conferences, they have become aware of the growing anxieties of this latelife generation — such as health, marriages, children/grandchildren, evaporating finances, loss of identity, meaningful work, and a spiritual disconnect as churches keep changing. The repeating groans we hear are, "Who am I with all of these losses and changes?" and "Am I worthwhile to anyone?"
Sadly, many of these latelife people cover these uncertainties with lots of "whistling in the dark", like a frightened young child running through a cemetery at night, pretending they don’t think about, or feel, these questions.
Jim and Jan are here to bring hope and guidance to the latelife generation with great inspiration to hold their heads up high and make a difference in their world.

Jim and Jan got married in February of 2006, after nine years of singleness for Jim, and five single years for Jan. Some people find it interesting that God brought them together -- from California and Michigan -- by a very modern technological tool -- the Internet.
